Barge transhipment takes place entirely electrically and therefore potentially emission-free, and the existing Diesel-powered equipment is all of the latest version. They are also equipped with fuel-saving devices to reduce emissions. The quay will be equipped with shore power in 2023.
In order to achieve our aim of operating without emissions, the PIONEERS EU subsidy project from 2021 to 2025 will examine, together with about 50 market players and (semi-)governments, under which conditions emission-free transhipment with reach stackers is possible, as well as emission-free transport terminal trucks and inland vessels.
SECURITY
Hutchison Ports Venlo has various security certifications. We are AEO secured and in possession of the AEO-F certificate. There is extensive CCTV security in place. Furthermore, the site is surrounded by an external fence with electric wires and there is intrusion detection by means of cameras with motion/heat detection.
