We strive to make the access process to our terminal fast, easy and reliable. Currently, drivers obtain access by means of the CargoCard. After reading the CargoCard, the biometrics of the driver is currently verified by the Fingervein. Recently, a new form of biometrics has been added on our terminals for verification: FROC (Facial Recognition On Chip). The biometrics here, like the fingervein, are stored on the CargoCard. This makes access to the terminal contactless, even faster and more secure.
From Q4-2024 it will be possible to arange gate in and gate out formalities through Remote Check in (RCI), which requires FROC. The exact start of RCI will be communicated at a later date.
From Q2-2025, only verification with FROC will be possible at our Barge Terminal.
This transition is an important step to make the access process as efficient and user-friendly as possible for our carriers and your drivers. We kindly ask for your cooperation for a smooth transition.
How can you prepare?
In order to continue having access to our Barge Terminal in the future and to use RCI at our Rail terminal it is necessary to have facial recognition added to the CargoCard.
As of today, the drivers can have facial recognition added on to the CargoCard free of charge at the counter of our Rail Terminal (Celsiusweg 30, 5928 PR Venlo) or at the service point of Secure Logistics (Hormuzstraat 50, 3199 KW Rotterdam). Once this has been added to the CargoCard, the driver can immediately use the access gate which is equipped with facial recognition.
