On Monday, October 13, we proudly celebrated the official opening of the expansion of our Barge Terminal.

Since September 2024, a new form of biometrics has been introduced at our terminals for verification: FROC (Facial Recognition On Chip), or facial recognition.  The biometrics here, like the fingervein, are stored on the CargoCard.

The work for the expansion of our barge terminal is in full progress.

The PIONEERS project is making huge strides toward a more sustainable future with the introduction of the electric green last mile (eGLM).

What is it?

We have taken another important step. The new site has been put into operation, and the work is progressing steadily.

From 2 December 2024, Hutchison Ports Venlo will offer the possibility of using Remote Check In (RCI) at the Rail terminal. This allows you to complete gate in and gate out formalities online before your driver visits our terminal.

As of today, 3 October 2024, Hutchison Ports Venlo's e-mail addresses have been changed to @hutchisonports.nl. The new e-mail addresses are as follows:

We strive to make the access process to our terminal fast, easy and reliable. Currently, drivers obtain access by means of the CargoCard. After reading the CargoCard, the biometrics of the driver is currently verified by the Fingervein.

The work for the expansion of our barge terminal is in full swing! The most recent developments can be seen in the photo below.

From now on, we have a weekly barge connection between Hutchison Ports Venlo and MCT in Port of Moerdijk. This service is an important addition to transport goods between these vital Dutch logistics centers and hubs.

With 2 departures to/from Antwerp per week - including one direct route - we provide our customers with optimal connectivity and efficiency.

On Friday, October 7, the Meet the Supply Chain event took place at Fontys campus Venlo. This time the day was aimed at final-year students of MBO and HBO.

Friday 7 and Saturday 8 October the 40th anniversary of Hutchison Ports Venlo has been celebrated.

On Friday we welcomed relations and on Saturday there were activities for employees with their families.

On Wednesday September 7, logistics partners in the Venlo region will present themselves in a unique way at the 'Experience the supply chain' event.

Today we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Hutchison Ports Venlo. In 1982, we started together with Seacon Logistics as "ECT Venlo". From the beginning the terminal proved to be successful. In 1992 the rail terminal at the Celsiusweg opened and we renamed ourselves "TCT Venlo".

Recently, ECT visited vidaXL to look at the future office of Supply Chain Valley. Supply Chain Valley is an innovation hub in Venlo where companies, knowledge centers and the government can work closely together.

Import containers that arrive at our terminal by train or barge can, after unloading, be checked for the presence of gases by various gas measurement companies that work with us. If the concentration is too high, the container is ventilated on the terminal.

The PIONEERS project has started. This is a broad European project with many international participants from the transport and logistics sector. The project focuses on sustainable logistics.
